Maile Kai Merrick is an actress, singer, and dancer originally from California.                                              Her artistic journey began at the age of four with a passion for singing, which                                            naturally evolved into acting at seven. She honed her craft at The ADDERLEY                                        Advanced Conservatory, immersing herself in the world of musical theatre.

                                Maile’s most recent stage credits include playing  Natasha in Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812 (Out of the Box Theatre Co.). She performed with The Adderley Advanced Conservatory as Fate 1 in Hadestown, Velma Kelly in Chicago, Sally Bowles in Cabaret, Nancy in Oliver!​, Catherine in Pippin​, Cinderella in Into the Woods, and The Music of Footloose with Kenny Loggins. 

 

Maile has been honored to work with and perform alongside esteemed artists such as Mary-Mitchell Campbell, Kevin Chamberlin, Kristin Chenoweth, Jordan Fisher, David Foster, Jack Dylan Grazer, Kenny Loggins, Ben Margulies, Anne Nathan, Michael Orland, Kenny Ortega, Alan Parsons, Katy Perry, Faith Prince, Christopher Sieber, and Elizabeth Teeter.

 

 She has received numerous accolades, including first, second, third, and fourth place awards in solo, dance, duet, monologue, and ensemble categories at the Musical Theatre Competitions of America in 2022, 2023, and 2024. She was also a top-three finalist in Teen Star USA and was honored with the Kelli O’Hara Soprano Kristi Award from Kristin Chenoweth.

In addition to her work as an actor and singer, Maile has trained in ballet and jazz, and has taken lyrical, hip-hop, and tap. She enjoys hiking and spending time outdoors, and has dabbled in a variety of instruments, including guitar, ukulele, and piano. For her role as Fräulein Kost in Cabaret, she even learned to play the accordion. Maile thrives in collaborative environments, enjoys taking on new creative challenges, and is passionate about developing original work.
